Brockville, ON – The Aquatarium is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a grant from Ontario’s Rural Economic Development (RED) program.
Ontario’s Rural Economic Development (RED) program helps rural Ontario generate investment and create jobs. Supporting rural communities is part of the government’s economic plan to invest in people, build modern infrastructure and support a dynamic and innovative business climate.
The City of Brockville will receive up to $47,500 to develop a marketing and outreach strategy for the Aquatarium, a 25,000 square foot interactive, learning and discovery centre located on the shore of the St. Lawrence River. The strategy will support the long-term sustainability of the facility, create jobs and support regional economic growth.
When advised of the award, the City’s Director of Economic Development, David Paul said “The funding contribution provides the capacity for leverage of cooperative market programming with our partners and ensuring much needed capacity to generate effective market penetration, enhanced profile and a successful opening launch of this regionally significant anchor attraction for Brockville and Eastern Ontario.”
