The Board and staff of the Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau are pleased to announce that Mary Lynn Villeneuve has been appointed the new Co-ordinator of the Aquatarium Volunteer Program and commenced her duties on June 15, 2015. Villeneuve is replacing the former coordinator, Elizabeth Green.
“Her experience as a committed volunteer along with her background in tourism and experience in working with the public will provide ongoing leadership in the recruitment of volunteers as well as the development and implementation of the Aquatarium Volunteer Program” says Harold Hess, Manager of the Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau.
“Mary Lynn’s personable and outgoing demeanour, combined with her experience and skills to foster and develop relationships, will create the perfect environment to grow the volunteer program at the Aquatarium” says Hess.
The Aquatarium will inspire curiosity in the 1000 Islands Region of the St. Lawrence River through entertaining and interactive experiences. The professional, well-trained volunteers will serve as regional ambassadors enhancing the enriching experience of the visitors to the facility.
“The Volunteer Program will be integral to the long term sustainability of the Aquatarium and I have the utmost confidence in the expertise both Mary Lynn and the Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau bring to the table” says Bill Rogerson, Executive Director, Aquatarium.
