A Note from our Education Department – Nov. 2016

Hello, my name is Jessica Williams and I am leading the Education Department at the Aquatarium. My approach to instruction emphasizes the child as the central role, where they are active participants in their construction of learning. I want to stimulate children’s growth by inspiring curiosity and challenging levels of higher-level thinking through meaningful and engaging experiences.  The Aquatarium complements this nicely by facilitating experiential learning using interactive technology and learner-centred exhibits. I am so excited to be integrating my love for teaching with Brockville’s newest attraction centre!

The Aquatarium in downtown Brockville boasts a variety of interactive adventures that inspire curiosity and critical thinking, while fostering an appreciation for the unique history, culture, and ecosystems of the 1000 Islands region. It is a wonderful facility for inquiry-based learning for you and your students. Teachers can schedule a class in our Water Lab, watch an educational film in our theatre, or deliver a lesson of their own using our equipment and resources. Visiting students are free to explore the discovery centre at their own pace and learn about the 1000 Islands region through our many hands-on exhibits. The educational experiences and activities offered at the Aquatarium are linked to Ontario’s K-12 Education curriculum.  At the Aquatarium learning is as fun as it is educational! Book your visit now and come experience for yourself!
