From time to time the Aquatarium will run contests & promotions. The Terms and Conditions of these contests can be found here (please scroll down to find the specific campaign/promotion that applies to you):

Inspiring Curiosity Contest – Valid Jan. 1, 2017 – Jan. 25, 2017.

  1. Eligibility: This Campaign is open only to those who submit a short (100 – 300 words) write-up (the “Entry”) describing what the Aquatarium does to inspire curiosity in the 1000 Islands region by the end date of the contest (Jan. 25, 2017) – Valid Jan. 1, 2017 – Jan. 25, 2017. Full name (first and last) must be included. Employees of the Aquatarium, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers, (collectively the “Employees”), and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of Employees are not eligible to participate in the Campaign. The Campaign is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.
  2. Agreement to Rules: By participating, the Contestant (“You”) agree to be fully unconditionally bound by these Rules, and You represent and warrant that You meet the eligibility requirements. In addition, You agree to accept the decisions of the Aquatarium as final and binding as it relates to the content of this Campaign.
  3. Campaign Period: Entries will be accepted via email to info@aquatarium.ca starting on Jan 1st, 2017, 7:00 am, and EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) and ending Jan. 25th, 2017 11:59 pm, and EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). All email entries must be received by Jan. 25th, 2017, 11:59pm, and EDT (Eastern Daylight Time).
  4. How to Enter: The Campaign must be entered by submitting an Entry by sending an email to info@aquatarium.ca. The Entry must fulfill all Campaign requirements, as specified, to be eligible to win a prize. Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Aquatarium. You may enter only once. You must provide the information requested. You may not enter more times than indicated by using multiple email addresses, identities, or devices in an attempt to circumvent the rules. If You use fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the rules, your submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of the Aquatarium.
  5. Prizes: The Winner of the Campaign (the “Winner”) will receive Four (4) Tickets 300 Level for the Ottawa Senators vs. Winnipeg Jets Sunday February 19th, 2017 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Winner must abide by all rules as outlined at ticketmaster.ca and is subject to terms outlined on the face of the ticket. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted except at the Aquatarium’s discretion. The prize is non-transferable. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, provincial, and/or local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the Winner. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by the Winner is permitted. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for the Aquatarium to use the Winner’s name, likeness, and Entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
  6. Odds: The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible Entries received.
  7. Winner Selection and Notification: The Winner will be selected by a selection committee of the Aquatarium. The Winner will be notified by email. The Aquatarium shall have no liability for the Winner’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk e-mail or other security settings or for the Winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If the Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within 7 days from the time award notification was sent, or fails to timely return a completed and executed declaration and release as required, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate Winner selected. Receipt by the Winner of the prize offered in this Campaign is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY THE WINNER (AT THE AQUATARIUMS‘S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN THE WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AS THE WINNER OF THE CAMPAIGN, AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS THE WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.
  8. Rights Granted by You: By entering this content (e.g., photo, video, text, etc.), You understand and agree that the Aquatarium, anyone acting on behalf of the Aquatarium, and the Aquatarium’s licensees, successors, and assigns, shall have the right, where permitted by law, to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use in any media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity and throughout the World, without limitation, your entry, name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, image, statements about the Campaign, and biographical information for news, publicity, information, trade, advertising, public relations, and promotional purposes. without any further compensation, notice, review, or consent. By entering this content, You represent and warrant that your entry is an original work of authorship, and does not violate any third party’s proprietary or intellectual property rights. If your entry infringes upon the intellectual property right of another, You will be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Aquatarium. If the content of your entry is claimed to constitute infringement of any proprietary or intellectual proprietary rights of any third party, You shall, at your sole expense, defend or settle against such claims. You shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Aquatarium from and against any suit, proceeding, claims, liability, loss, damage, costs or expense, which the Aquatarium may incur, suffer, or be required to pay arising out of such infringement or suspected infringement of any third party’s right.
  9. Terms & Conditions: The Aquatarium reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Campaign should virus, bug, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other cause beyond the Aquatarium’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Campaign. In such case, the Aquatarium may select the Winner from all eligible Entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by the Aquatarium. The Aquatarium reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the Entry process or the operation of the Campaign or website or violates these Terms & Conditions. The Aquatarium has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the Campaign, to void Entries for any reason, including, but not limited to: multiple Entries from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple Entries from the same computer in excess of that allowed by Campaign rules; or the use of bots, macros, scripts, or other technical means for Entering. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Campaign may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such attempt be made, the Aquatarium reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  10. Limitation of Liability: By entering, You agree to release and hold harmless the Aquatarium and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) such entrant’s participation in the Campaign and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries.
  11. Disputes: THIS Campaign IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF CANADA AND ONTARIO, WITHOUT RESPECT TO CONFLICT OF LAW DOCTRINES. As a condition of participating in this Campaign, participant agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Campaign, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Ontario having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances shall participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorney’s fees, other than participant’s actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. costs associated with entering this Campaign). Participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

Name Our Otters Contest Part 2 – Valid May 9, 2016 – May 16, 2016.

  1. Eligibility: This Campaign is open only to those who sign up at the Name Our Otters Contest – Part 2 – Valid May 9, 2016 – May 16, 2016. This Campaign is open only to those who sign up at the https://www.facebook.com/TheAquatarium/app/368392910021259/ form. Employees of the Aquatarium, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers, (collectively the “Employees”), and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of Employees are not eligible to participate in the Campaign. The Campaign is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

Bob’s Aquatarium Giveaway – BOBFM – Valid May 2nd, 2016 – May 6th, 2016.

    1. To enter the BOB’s Aquatarium Giveaway contest (the “Contest”), an announcement will be made one (1) time each weekday of the Contest Period (one each at approximately 8:50am ET), with a question about the St. Lawrence, Aquatarium or Brockville Area (A Trivia Question) and telling listeners to call in with the correct answer for a chance to win and qualify for a grand prize. (the “Announcements”).  When you hear an Announcement, call the 1037 BOB FM Studio at 1-800-495-1037 (the “Contest Line”).  In the event that the entrant is outside of the local calling area, standard long distance rates as charged by the entrant’s long distance service provider will apply.  The first caller through on the Contest Line following an Announcement with the correct answer will be eligible for entry into the Prize Draw, as described below (an “Eligible Draw Entrant”).  If the first caller through does NOT have the right answer to the question, he/she will be disqualified and the BOB FM announcer will move on to the next caller. Each Eligible Draw Entrant will be announced on-air and may be required to chat on-air.  If there is not a clear telephone connection between the BOB FM on-air announcer and an Eligible Draw Entrant, such that one or each other cannot hear the other, such Eligible Draw Entrant will be disqualified, and the Contest Sponsor will not be liable in any way for such failed connection.  Each Eligible Draw Entrant will then be required to provide a representative of BOB FM with his/her name, address and telephone number.  In conducting the contest, BOB FM and its representatives have the full and absolute discretion to disqualify any Eligible Draw Entrant who fails to respond on the phone or whose response cannot be heard, and the Contest Sponsor shall have no liability or responsibility to any Eligible Draw Entrant so disqualified.  The odds of becoming an Eligible Draw Entrant will depend on the total number of individuals calling the Contest Line following the applicable Announcement.  The Contest starts at 8:50am ET on Monday May 2nd, 2016 and closes on May 6th, 2016 at 9:00am ET. (the “Contest Period”). There are 5 prizes and one grand prize to be won. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Limit of one Prize per household.
    1. The contest sponsor is: 103.7 BOB FM a division of Bell Media Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest Sponsor”).
    1. To enter and to be eligible to win, entrant must be a legal resident of Ontario living withinthe 613 area code and be 18 years of age or older. Employees and their parents, siblings and children, and persons domiciled with an employee of the Contest Sponsor, its agents, parent, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, divisions, prize sponsors, and promotional and advertising agencies and administrators, are ineligible to enter. A winner of a previous Bell Media Inc. contest within the thirty (30) days preceding the start of this Contest (including persons designated by such winners to take ownership of prizes) and persons domiciled with a winner are not eligible to enter.
    1. Prizes – There are five (5) prizes each consisting of: A pair of general admissions passes for the Aquatarium in Brockville. The approximate retail value of each prize is: $40 CAD. There is one (1) Grand prize consisting of: A tour of the Aquatarium with the Animal Husbandry Team, Ropes Course and AquaDrop. Retail value of the grand prize is $200
    1. Prizes must be accepted as awarded. The Prizes may not be sold, transferred and are  not convertible to cash. Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a Prize in whole or in part in the event that all or any component of the Prize is unavailable. Prize winner is solely responsible for all costs not expressly described herein.
    1. On May 6th,2016 at approximately 9:00am ET, a random draw for the Grand Prize will take place at Bell Media Inc., Brockville, Ontario from among all Eligible Draw Entrants (the “Prize Draw”).  The first Eligible Draw Entrant drawn will be eligible to win the Grand Prize. The odds of winning the grand Prize from among the Eligible Draw Entrants are one in five (5).  Bell Media Inc., acting reasonably, will attempt to contact the potential Grand Prize winner to notify potential winner that he or she may have won the Grand Prize potential winner cannot be contacted within 2 business days after the Prize Draw, he or she will be disqualified and an alternate potential winner may be drawn at the Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion. Proof of identification must be provided upon request. In order to be declared the winner, potential winner must first correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question administered by Bell Media Inc. All entries become property of Contest Sponsor who assumes no responsibility for garbled, lost, late, delayed, destroyed or misdirected entries, mail, voice messages, e-mail or any computer errors or malfunctions. No correspondence will be entered into except with entrants requesting Rules by mail or requesting the names of the Prize winners (for which a self-addressed, postage paid envelope must be included). Contest Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, seeding or printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry materials or data that have been tampered with or altered are void. If for any reason, in the opinion of the Contest Sponsor, in its sole discretion, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or the proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond its control, Contest Sponsor reserves its right to cancel, terminate, modify, amend, extend or suspend the Contest, and select a winner from previously received eligible entries. Contest Sponsor reserves its right to modify the Rules without materially affecting the terms and conditions hereof. The Contest Sponsor reserves its right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the Rules or otherwise in a disruptive manner. By entering this Contest each entrant consents to the collection, use and distribution of his or her personal information (information that identifies an entrant as an individual, such as home telephone number, age and home address) by the Contest Sponsor for the purposes of implementing, administering and fulfilling this Contest. Contest Sponsor will not sell or transmit this information to third parties except for the purposes of administering this Contest.     Where’s the Otter Contest – 104.9 JRFM – Valid May 2nd, 2016 – May 6th, 2016.

To enter the JRfm’s Where’s the Otter Giveaway contest (the “Contest”), an announcement will be made three (3) times each weekday of the Contest Period (one each between 6a-9a approximately) giving listeners clues about a specific place or business in the Brockville Area  and telling listeners to call in with the correct answer for a chance to win and qualify for a grand prize. (the “Announcements”).  When you hear an Announcement, call the 1049 JRfm Studio at 613-345-5033 (the “Contest Line”).  In the event that the entrant is outside of the local calling area, standard long distance rates as charged by the entrant’s long distance service provider will apply.  The first caller through on the Contest Line following an Announcement with the correct answer will be eligible for entry into the Prize Draw, as described below (an “Eligible Draw Entrant”).  If the first caller through does NOT have the right answer to the question, he/she will be disqualified and the JRfm announcer will move on to the next caller. Each Eligible Draw Entrant will be announced on-air and may be required to chat on-air.  If there is not a clear telephone connection between the JRfm on-air announcer and an Eligible Draw Entrant, such that one or each other cannot hear the other, such Eligible Draw Entrant will be disqualified, and the Contest Sponsor will not be liable in any way for such failed connection.  Each Eligible Draw Entrant will then be required to provide a representative of JRfm with his/her name, address and telephone number.  In conducting the contest, JRfm and its representatives have the full and absolute discretion to disqualify any Eligible Draw Entrant who fails to respond on the phone or whose response cannot be heard, and the Contest Sponsor shall have no liability or responsibility to any Eligible Draw Entrant so disqualified.  The odds of becoming an Eligible Draw Entrant will depend on the total number of individuals calling the Contest Line following the applicable Announcement.  The Contest starts at 8:50am ET on Monday May 2nd, 2016 and closes on May 6th, 2016 at 9:00am ET. Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a Prize in whole or in part in the event that all or any component of the Prize is unavailable. On May 6th,2016 at approximately 9:00am ET, a random draw for the Grand Prize will take place at Bell Media Inc., Brockville, Ontario from among all Eligible Draw Entrants (the “Prize Draw”).  The first Eligible Draw Entrant drawn will be eligible to win the Grand Prize.   1. Eligibility: This Campaign is open only to those who sign up at the https://www.facebook.com/TheAquatarium/app/368392910021259/ form. Employees of the Aquatarium, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers, (collectively the “Employees”), and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of Employees are not eligible to participate in the Campaign. The Campaign is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.
  2. Agreement to Rules: By participating, the Contestant (“You”) agree to be fully unconditionally bound by these Rules, and You represent and warrant that You meet the eligibility requirements. In addition, You agree to accept the decisions of the Aquatarium as final and binding as it relates to the content of this Campaign.
  3. Campaign Period: Entries will be accepted online starting on April 19th 2016, 4pm, and EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) and ending April 29th , 11:59pm, and EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). All online entries must be received by April 29th , 11:59pm, and EDT (Eastern Daylight Time).
  4. How to Enter: The Campaign must be entered by submitting an entry using the online form provided at https://www.facebook.com/TheAquatarium/app/368392910021259/. The entry must fulfill all Campaign requirements, as specified, to be eligible to win a prize. Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Aquatarium. Optional verbiage to include: You may enter only once.   5. Prizes: The Winner(s) of the Campaign (the “Winner”) will receive A Pass for 2 to the Aquatarium & an Aquatarium Stuffed Otter. Actual/appraised value may differ at time of prize award. The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by the Aquatarium. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted except at the Aquatarium’s discretion. The prize is nontransferable. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, provincial, and/or local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the Winner. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by the Winner is permitted. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for the Aquatarium to use the Winner’s name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

  7. Winner Selection and Notification: The Winner will be selected by a random drawing under the supervision of the Aquatarium. The Winner will be notified by email at May 6th. If the Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within 7 days from the time award notification was sent, or fails to timely return a completed and executed declaration and release as required, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate Winner selected. Receipt by the Winner of the prize offered in this Campaign is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations. Terms & Conditions: The Aquatarium reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Campaign should virus, bug, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other cause beyond the Aquatarium’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Campaign. In such case, the Aquatarium may select the Winner from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by the Aquatarium. The Aquatarium reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Campaign or website or violates these Terms & Conditions.   11. Disputes: THIS Campaign IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF CANADA AND ONTARIO, WITHOUT RESPECT TO CONFLICT OF LAW DOCTRINES.
